Nadine King is a 20+ year veteran with experience supporting C-suite executives, vice presidents, executive directors, local church leaders, small business owners, and entrepreneurs as an executive assistant and virtual assistant. With a background in both for-profit and non-profit sectors, Nadine brings with her a wealth of experience and knowledge in communications, financial management, and executive administration. A recent author of the book The Ninja: Chronicles of an Assistant, Nadine is an advocate for the profession supporting the growth of others in various administrative support roles. Nadine is currently the President of Staff Council at Spelman College, having served on and staffed several organizational committees, Nadine values the importance of service.

Experienced in coordinating office systems and special projects, Nadine has managed large budgets (over 1 million). Nadine is an expert in Microsoft Office Suite, PeopleSoft, BOA/Citibank Credit Card reconciliation systems, Accountant’s World, Sage Software, G5, OrgSync, Kronos, Banner, SmartSheet, Lucid Charts, Google Chrome, and cloud based programs.

As I mention in my book, the executive assistant role deserves constant celebration. It is easy for us to take a step back and allow others to shine with the support we lend as executive assistants. I am an advocate for the role we play for our executives, and along with that, I am an advocate for our contributions and our personal professional development.

How do you describe your role when people ask what you do for a living?

I am my executive’s go-to for help on reaching their goals for the organization. I manage the budget, oversee support staff, manage their calendar and time, and keep my executive briefed on high priority initiatives. I manage the day-to-day operations of the office so my executive can focus on high priority initiatives.

What is your favorite part about being a strategic business partner to your executive?

The variety! It never gets boring. I am awarded the opportunity to be involved in various projects and initiatives that touch every aspect of the division. I currently am the assistant to a visionary that values my worth and my contributions. There is never a dull moment. I am challenged to think critically, set goals and meet those goals. I value the relationship I am building with my executive as it is vital to my growth as an executive assistant and my leadership as a rising voice in the profession.
